Appeal to identify man in CCTV in connection with Epsom assault

Surrey Police are appealing for help to identify a man in CCTV images in connection with an assault in Epsom.

Officers would like to speak to the man as he may have more information about the incident which took place in Waterloo Road on December 21.

The victim suffered a broken jaw and nose after being attacked on the pavement next to an alleyway at the side of Nandos, between 1.10am and 1.20am.

The man in the CCTV is described as being white, early to mid 20s, with dark hair and approximately 5ft 9 or 10 inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Patrick McCann said: “This assault has left the victim with serious facial injuries on the weekend before Christmas. We know there were a large number of people in the area at the time but have not had any witnesses come forward.

“We know that someone must have seen what happened and will also know who the man is in these images. Please do the right thing and come forward if this is you and help our investigation.”

Anyone with any information should contact Surrey Police on 101 or use www.surrey.police.uk to report and quote the reference number PR/45200000609.

A 19 year-old man from Epsom was arrested in January on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession a psychoactive substance with intent to supply after being found with 106 NOS canisters. He has since been released on bail. This is not the man in the CCTV images.
