WAYNE (Why Aren’t You Normal Epsom) is a community-based podcast set up by local man Lewis Stephens (known online as The Tourist Dog) which questions normality by interviewing people from the local area who have an alternate hobby, career, story or idea which has or could improve their lives. The podcast is to show that there is no such thing as a normal and will create a platform for ideas and inspiration to help and inspire people to get more out of their lives.
On Saturday 18 January from 9am until 2pm Lewis will be in The Ashley Centre at his WAYNE podcast stand talking and interviewing members of the public about their stories of things that enhance their lives. Come and meet Lewis and see the iconic bike that took him 5,000 miles across the UK and brought him into contact with amazing communities across the UK.
Lewis originally got the idea for this podcast during his 5,000-mile bike ride around the UK in 2019 raising money and awareness for CALM, an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide.
Lewis said: “It’s a laid-back podcast where guests can come and talk about their life, story, hobby or career and how it has influenced them. O|ne of the recent episodes we have filmed features a personal trainer who is also an Instagram influencer and body builder and who talks about how something that started off as a way to help with anxiety has turned into a career helping others.”
