As part of Heritage Week come face to face with the past in Ewell Village.
Learn how to cast a Bronze Age Axe, Gasp at Roman gladiators, stumble on Georgian Highwayman prisoners, Visit WW1 camp and meet the Doctor. Meet the Hampshire Airborne Troop on the 2nd day of the Battle of Arnhem , Meet the Land Army Girls and their petting zoo.
Celebrate the stories under our feet at various locations across the village, throughout the day (between 10am and 5pm). Free to attend. Full details to follow – watch this space!
We are pleased to announce that Dr Jame Dilly will be joining us. An archeologist and craftsman who specialises in prehistoric technologies with over 17 years of experience.
James has worked with museums and heritage centres around the UK such as The British Museum and Stonehenge and alongside media companies such as the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and National Geographic. On the day he will be casting a bronze age axe as well as living history display.
The new Governor of Britannia and his guards will be visiting Ewell History Day in his honour there will be 2 Gladiator Shows in Bourne Hall Park. Featuring cast member from the 2000 film Gladiator. watch and learn the life style of a roman nobleman and a Gladiator.
WARNING!!! There are reports that a Highwayman has been seen in and around Ewell Village lets hope he is caught before Saturday 18th September and put in the Watch House
