We are pleased to announce the return of the Satisfied Eye Epsom Film Festival on 8th Oct -11th Oct 2020.
Already rated as one of the BEST new film festivals in the world , the Satisfied Eye International Film Festival (SEIFF) returns to Epsom from 2020. Ranked in the top 100 out of over 8500 festivals around the world, it’s the first time a festival has managed this within its first two years.
Run entirely by volunteers, SEIFF was launched by BAFTA winning, multi Emmy nominated Epsom writer and director Chris Hastings and having now bought on board Academy Awards consultant Ada Vaughan (based in Toronto) the festival will be increasing to 4 days from 2020.
Renowned for an incredibly high quality programme of independent feature films. shorts, documentaries and animation, with Oscar and BAFTA winners, World, European and UK premieres, the festival has a track record of spotting talent. Winners from last year’s festival were competing at this month’s Oscars, while their People’s Choice winner has just been picked up for a multi-million dollar Hollywood production.
The festival’s aim is simple: to make Epsom a thriving must-go destination, a vibrant, bustling town that connects people in a love of cinema, where busy cafes and restaurants buzz with the sound of people discussing movies. The festival was created to connect people in lasting ways, where a lively and thriving community of filmmakers and filmgoers, families, students, businesses and locals are united in a true celebration of film and all the borough has to offer; not just during the festival, but all year round.
SEIFF presents incredible works and undiscovered gems, from children’s animation (selected by a panel of young local judges) to hard hitting documentaries, from edge-of-your-seat action and sci fi to rip-roaring comedies, engaging audiences by offering films they can’t see anywhere else and may never have the opportunity to see again.
With a programme of year round events, free family screenings, comic con, in-house productions (including films and series shot and based in Epsom), mentoring schemes and workshops,SEIFF is a true community asset with global reach with submissions from 58 countries and attendees last year from as far afield as USA, Canada, Germany, Finland, Belgium, France and Estonia.
